Monday it was back to the real world after an amazing anniversary weekend with the hubby. Laundry, cleaning house, getting ready for company, and a kitty that needed some attention. Ginger had been limping around on her left front paw, so I thought I better take her to the vet. I love our cat, and she loves us, but she doesn't love most people or traveling in the car. Well, it was easy getting her in the pet carrier, and she didn't freak out on the way. But there were cats hanging all around the waiting room, and one came over to give her a sniff. She started growling, and I knew it was not going to be good. Then some crazy kids came in to pick up new kittens, and the kids and the kittens got her even more upset. By the time we got in the waiting room she was a devil cat. They had to gas her to even exam her. I was so embarrassed! She acted awful! It was a good thing Brad was home to watch ME, because I can't imagine having to wrangle her and the cat. The vet examined her, knocked out of course, did Xrays, and found nothing. She gave us some pain meds, charged us $100, and said she would call and check on her in a few days. Well she didn't call to check on her. She probably didn't ever want to see us again, and that's fine with me because I wouldn't dare go back after how she acted. Ginger is on her on from here on out. She's doing better- still limps sometimes, but oh well. Monday night we had the Allens as visitors at our house again, and it's always good to visit with them. Jim went back to the doctor for a check-up, and we hope he is on his way to feeling like his old self. Tuesday we spent time at the pool and got ready for our next visitors- Gigi, Papa, Oma, and Opa. Melvin had a doctor's appointment at the VA with a heart doctor. They came down Wednesday and enjoyed watching Mary Ella play and splash in her pool. They were cracking up watching her turn around and around on her booty in the pool. And she was throwing every toy in the pool behind her. Funny girl! Wednesday night I cooked Brad an early Father's Day dinner. He loves a good ham, and I have been wanting to make him one, but so much goes to waste when it's just us. So I thought we could share it with the fam. I made my Coca-Cola ham with hash brown casserole, green bean bundles, rolls, and strawberry cake. Thursday Opa got his heart cath and everything looked good! We got to visit a little more before they went home and wished they could have stayed longer. Friday night we had a quiet night at home with fajitas, a movie, and a new dessert- sopapilla cheesecake. It was so good! Saturday Brad, ME, and I went down to the pool for some family time.
