First Haircut

Brad went out of town Tuesday for work (he left us for a fancy historic hotel on the beach in St. Petersburg, Fl), so instead of moping around all week, we decided to head north and visit the fam. While we're here I decided to take advantage of a kids' salon in Fayetteville called Pigtails and Crewcuts. They have fun chairs for the kids to sit in, and Tangled was playing on the tv's, so Mary Ella had NO problem with it!

Here is a before picture. I hated to lose any of her length, but her ends needed a pretty good trim.

All done!

It was a wonderful first haircut experience, and the cut is oh so cute!

Little Scientist

Yesterday we went to the Science Museum for a little preschool "camp." It's only for a few Monday's in June, and it's free so I thought we would try it. Mary Ella enjoyed playing in the preschool room and listening to the stories. She sat in my lap, listened to the director, and even laughed at her corny jokes. ;) The hour was all about alligators. We went on an alligator hunt through the museum, did an art project, and she even got to touch a baby alligator!

A little finger painting?

Um, this is how I feel about finger painting

She had a great time! It was extra fun to spend the hour with our friend Cullen!

Beating the Heat

It is H-O-T in Mississippi! I mean high 90's, feels like 100's. The other day my car said 109! Ouch! So here's what we were up to last week. Trying to beat the heat by staying wet...

Summertime and the livin' is easy

Can you say loungin' by the pool?

We also played in the water at Jack and Emma's.

Saturday we took Daddy to the pool with us.

I thought I could get a picture of ME's pig tails when she was strapped in the carseat, but nope! Here is one side!

And the other side! They are adorable!

Making a silly face at Stix! Stay cool everyone!

It's Summer!

Mary Ella knew yesterday was the first day of summer vacation...she slept until 10:00! Ha! Really she was just worn out from the weekend, but Mama didn't mind sleeping in too! We also went to the pool and had a picnic lunch.

All she wanted to do was go back and forth between the big pool and the kiddie pool. I ended up just staying in the big pool and waiting for her to come jump in and climb out all over again.

Everyone is hungry after swim time! I'm going to love these summer days!
