Hogs, Chickens, and a Horsie

Saturday after our trip to the pumpkin patch we came home and watched the Hogs beat the Aggies. It wasn't a great game, but it was another "W!" After the game we headed down to Hope for the rest of the weekend. Monday was Columbus Day and Brad was off, so it was a good opportunity for him to get in some bow hunting. He didn't see the big buck he was hoping for, but he did see some wild hogs.
One of the elders at the Madison CofC found this straw pig at a garage sale, spray-painted it red, and gave it to me before we moved. I love it!

Sunday we went to church in Patmos, had Amigo Juan for lunch, napped, and took our little entertainer down to Nanny and Pa's house. She did all her tricks for them, including her newest: twirling. She turns around and around in circles. It is so cute! Sunday night after church we went over to Cole's house for fish and...alligator. Yes, Super Uncle Cole snagged a gator on a night hunt a couple weeks ago. It's a big deal, because you have to get drawn to do it. I did not taste the alligator, but apparently it has a mild taste and is a bit chewy. Monday ME played with Mia, and we went back down to Nanny and Pa's house after her nap. Nanny cooked an amazing lunch for us, and we especially enjoyed her coconut pie. Yum!

Getting excited about Pa's chickens

She was very impressed.

Nanny and Pa have a HUGE oak tree in their front yard that produces huge leaves.

Super Uncle Cole took us on a ride in the gator, and we got to see Freckles, the horsie. Cole started feeding her grass, and ME watched in amazement as she bit and chewed it right from his hand. She started making the "more" sign for him to continue. She wanted more and more! He kept pulling up grass and feeding it to her. Then Mary Ella started moving her mouth and pretending to chew like Freckles. It was hilarious!
