Disney!!!

So, I know I am waaay behind on the blog!  We were in Florida/Alabama for a week, home for a few days and then off to Little Rock and Hope for most of the next week.  Since we've been home I've been overwhelmed with laundry and trying to get my house back together.  Not to mention I only had 500+ pictures to weed through, plus the ones from Jenn's camera.  I just kept going back and trying to delete some and the days kept passing me by.  It was especially hard to get rid of any from our day at Magic Kingdom.  So, I finally said forget it.  I know y'all don't care to see every little moment of our vacation, but this blog is mostly for my memories.  So here it goes...

It all began when I received an e-mail from Brad that said, "Looks like we have a summer vacation."  The VA had scheduled another VISN CFO meeting in Orlando the third week of June (we went last year too).  I was psyched!  We hadn't made any plans to go anywhere this summer, and I was itching for some sand between my toes.  So, we turned his day and a half meeting into a Saturday to Saturday Disney and beach all-rolled-into-one family vacation.  And we invited Jenn to come.  She just finished nursing school in May, and the poor girl will never get to go on any vacations with my crop duster brother during the summer...he's just too busy then.  I didn't know if she would want to because traveling halfway across the country with 2 small children is anything but a relaxing type of vacation, but we were so excited when she said yes!  She came down the Friday before, and we left Madison at about 10:00 am the next morning.  We knew it was going to be a long trip, and we weren't in a rush to leave early because we knew the kids would do their best traveling that night.  We stopped twice to eat and maybe a couple more times for bathroom, but the kids did great!  Jenn was so helpful with entertaining Rhett in the backseat, and ME is happy if she's got a DVD to watch.  Two funnies about her and the trip:  We usually don't turn movies on until she asks for them, and I think we made it all the way to lunch in the panhandle of Florida before we had to put one in for her after we ate.  The sweet girl was so hyped up about Disneyworld that she didn't even want to stop and eat.  I think she thought we were going to get there any minute so she wasn't worried about tv or eating.  She had been so quiet in the backseat the whole time because she had been anxiously waiting!  She said, "No, I want to go to Disneyworld!"  When we weren't there by lunch time, I think she decided to settle in for some movies.  We watched loads of Disney movies to get us pumped up, and here's the second thing.  One of the DVDs we probably watched 5 times during the trip was a Leap Frog alphabet one.  We have been working on learning our letters, and by the time we made it home she knew most of them and alot of sounds too!  So, we got to Orlando at 11pm our time.  Sunday was a rest day.  And Monday was Magic Kingdom!
We finally made it!

Going

Going
Gone!  This fan/sprayer was ridiculously priced at $17, but it was well worth every dollar on this hot day.  ME played with it everytime she was in the stroller, and we definitely needed it for the big boy.

Waiting for Mickey's Dreams Come True to start

Wow!

She was in awe of the characters on the stage of the castle.

Parade time!

Mary Poppins!

This time instead of watching the parade in front of the castle, we watched outside of the Town Hall where the Princesses and Mickey and Minnie hang out.  After the parade, we were the first ones in line to see..
Cinderella!

I l.o.v.e. every single one of these pictures.  It was so fun to see her meet and talk to the princesses!

Rhett even got to meet Mickey and Minnie!

He wasn't that impressed with Minnie.

Or Mickey ;)

ME was all warmed up for Rapunzel.  They chatted like old friends.

She was so cute!  Our fav by far!

Daddy and Rhett found cool places to rest while we played with the princesses.

They had snacks too! ;)

He was sooo good all day in the stroller.  Here we are waiting while ME, Jenn, and Brad rode the tea cups.  He was working on cutting his 2nd tooth!

I think he was excited to have some attention from Mommy.

Thanks to Jenn for taking these!  Love!

Getting ready to watch Mickey's Philharmonic...so fun!

He was pulling her hair or kicking her in the back all day!  It was pretty hilarious!

Hello lil' toofer!

See the little feet kicking?

We were having such a good time that time got away from us and we missed eating a sit down dinner.  We grabbed pretzels, corndogs, chips, and cokes and made our way to the front of the park to get a good spot for the electrical parade.  ME had a moment while she ate goldfish, fruit snacks, and a Capri Sun for supper.

Napping while we waited for our second parade of the day

He woke up in time to see the parade.

It was really cool!

Girl was out before we got on the boat.

I'd say this is getting your money's worth! ;)

  2. It's impossible to pick just one favorite, so I'll have to pick one of each babylove. I adore Cinderella posing with ME and love, love the one of you holding Rhett up in the air at nighttime with the lights in the background. What a great trip! They are so fortunate to have a Dad with a great job and a Mom who is willing to be along for the ride (talk about work!). Miss you and see you in one month!
