Football, Family, and Food

We have been looking forward to Labor Day Weekend for a long time! Football started! Go Hogs! And Brad's parents came and brought Oma too! They came down Thursday night, so we had a good long weekend with them. And Mary Ella loved every minute! Friday we hung around the house, took ME to the pool, and watched her dress up in all of her princess outfits. Saturday the boys were glued to the TV, but the girls got out and did a little shopping. That night we stayed in and ordered the Arkansas game. Sunday was church and Char brunch. Yum! And Monday we FINALLY got started on Rhett's room. Brad and Joe were planning on moving the furniture out anyway, but while they were here we got a call that the crib was in! So I got really excited, and then really disappointed when we opened it and one of the legs had a crack. Shoot! We are going to have it replaced of course, but just the idea of it and the seeing the empty room has me inspired! I have projects started that I'll have to post pictures of soon. Can't wait for the bed and bedding and curtains to get here and get everything put together! Anyway, we had the best time...Mary Ella wanted to get in the car and go home with Gigi and Papa. ;) Thanks for a wonderful weekend and loving on our girl!

Mary Ella and Rhett say, "Go Hogs Go!"

Side view at 30 weeks

And front view- I thought the Hogs stretched over the belly were humorous!

And now onto the food. I feel like we ate and ate and ate all weekend! But the meal I was most excited about was for college gameday. I made the first taco soup of the season! I know it sounds crazy with hot weather, but we actually have had cooler temperatures and it hit the spot!

Green chili and cheese biscuits

And corn dip and chips for game time!

And Rita made the best skillet apple pie. Yum!
