Sooo, this is not the first time the name Lloyd Christmas has entered my mind when looking at my son. After his last haircut he looked a little bit like this (with his signature cowlick on one side). And now, poor Rhett has a chipped tooth to match. Yeah, that one that just poked through last week and hasn't even come in all the way? That tooth. His first front tooth. Is chipped before it ever had a chance. So sad. And I'm not even 100% sure how or when it happened. There was no blood, I know that. He has busted his mouth before, and I make sure to check everything out. I just noticed the chip Saturday morning when I got him up and changed his diaper. AND the gums on top of the other front tooth about to come in are bruised! I hope that tooth isn't in jeopardy too! The only thing we can figure is that it happened Friday night at the Atkinson's. We had supper with them, and Rhett pulled up for the first time on a wall (their door actually). He was looking out the window at their cat, and Mama was so proud of him! I think he was proud of himself too, to be standing up like that, basically on his own. And when he decided to sit down it didn't happen smoothly. He basically scraped his face down the window and bottom of the door. I saw a little bit of skin scraped off of his nose, but no blood anywhere. We only saw it from the back, so I didn't know that he must have hit his mouth. But he cried and cried, so I knew it hurt. But he was really tired too, so I thought that was part of the drama. So, we came home and went to bed and woke up the next morning to Lloyd Christmas. I tried to take a picture of it, but he freaks out when I hold him down. I think the whole area is sore anyway from cutting those teeth...I just hope he hasn't done any irreparable damage minus leaving a chip in Bob and Rebecca's kitchen. Maybe it can be filed down. I don't know, but off to the pediatric dentist we go...
