Okay, Mama, I admit it. You were right. Rhett has my dad's chin with the dimple. She called it at the hospital, but I thought it was just her wishful thinking. But he definitely favors my dad a lot, and the fatter he gets, the deeper the dimple. In fact, in the above picture his profile is almost exactly the same. Not the baby or kid version of my dad (I checked that out in his baby pictures), but the grown man version...lips, chin, and maybe even nose. And sometimes his whole facial expressions remind me of him.
This week was our first week back at home after all of our travels. It was good to be home, but it took us all week to catch up on rest and LAUNDRY! I did 10 loads in 2 days! Monday night was the National Championship and for once we were cheering for Alabama. I get an equally bad taste in my mouth when I think of Nick Saban and Les Miles, but I wanted Bama to win it for the town of Tuscaloosa. We saw first hand what the tornadoes did there, and it was awful!
Mary Ella decided to go on a napping hiatus this week, and it about kicked my booty and I about kicked hers. Think fly swat, people. She was sooo grumpy! She missed a few naps at Mia's and for some reason she got home and thought that part of her day was no longer needed. I was about to lose all hope, and thought they might be gone forever. But, I'm glad I stuck to my guns, because by the weekend she was back on schedule. And we were both in better moods! :)
I promise we do get out of pajamas on most days! Actually, on Wednesday we went to the dentist, doctor, story time, and had lunch with Daddy. All in one day! Impressive, right? :)
This was one morning after her bath. I had to tend to Rhett and before I had time to get her lotion on and hair dry (and panties on) this is what she had done.
Friday afternoon Brad called me and said to have Mary Ella ready at 4:00. He had gotten tickets to Beauty and the Beast in 3D and was taking off early to take her. So, when she got up from her nap I told her what they were going to do and I called it a date, one time I think. We got her all Belle'd up and even painted her fingernails. She was excited, but she went nuts when she heard the garage door open. She started running and screaming, "Daddy is here! Daddy is here! I'm going on a date!" It was precious! By the way, I told her to go stand by the fireplace so I could take her picture, and this was the pose she made. Ha!
I hope she is always this excited about spending time with her daddy. I know I was a little jealous, about missing the movie and about the date. I'm needing a date night with Daddy too! ;) It was all good though. I got to spend the evening snuggling with my own little love. PLUS that night Brad told me to go sleep upstairs. He even brought me breakfast in bed and let me go back to sleep until 11:00! Much needed!
