This looks like a serious conversation.

Sweet Mary Ella,

You are a happy, bouncy, growing baby girl! You fill our home with more love and laughter than we could have ever imagined. This month has been fun, but I feel like we are on the verge of some big changes. Pretty soon I think you will be keeping Mommy on the go! Here's what you've been up to:

• You weigh 23 pounds and are 27 1/2 inches long (according to at-home measurements.) BIG difference from about 4 months ago!
• You have lots of cute 9 month outfits, but you won't be able to wear them for long! Now I am buying 12 month things.
• You are babbling alot now, trying out new sounds. We're still waiting on ma ma and da da.
• You have tried all of the Gerber 1st fruits and veggies. Bananas and peaches weren't your favorite, but you'll eat it all. You really like pears and applesauce.
• For breakfast you have cereal and a fruit, for lunch a fruit and a veggie, and for supper a veggie and cereal.
• You still drink 4 bottles, but we have dropped down to 6 oz.
• You are eating Mum Mum rice krisps on your own, and you will finally drink some juice from a sippy cup.
• You are really moving and getting restless with what you can and can't do. You are trying so hard to crawl. You just kick and pull with your arms, but you don't go anywhere. You grunt and huff and puff and flip and flop like a fish! I can tell you are getting frustrated. Then you just go back to rolling. From sitting up you can lean forward and get on your hands and knees and rock a little bit. I think you'll get it soon!
• You had your first cold/allergies this month. You got all stuffy and had a yucky cough. You wanted your pacifier more and were a little clingy, but you're a good girl even when you don't feel good.
• You are sitting up in the bath now, and you splash like a maniac!
• Your favorite books are Moo, Baa, La La La and your Baby Einstein Mirror Me book. You kiss and lick yourself in the mirror!
• You are really into anything that is not a toy: cell phones, remotes, wallets, keys, glasses, anything you can get your hands on that you're not supposed to have.
• You love singing and dancing. I have seen you stop playing to watch a performance on Dancing with the Stars and American Idol.
• You have the most kissable, squeezable cheeks and arms and legs! And we love to love on you!
