We started getting ice/freezing rain/sleet on a Thursday. It snowed Thursday night and most of the day Friday. I don't know how much we got, but it was a lot and cold, so it just stayed around. Still lingering actually. Schools were closed until the following Thursday. I took the kids out in it the first afternoon, and it was fun until they got cold and then it was not. We don't exactly have the appropriate snow gear. But Lindsay brought a bunch of stuff over to Joe and Rita's on Saturday, and the kids lasted longer. Mary Ella did at least. Rhett slipped and fell on his back a few times and was done. ME and I sled down the big hill. ME loved it until she went by herself and went past the boundary, across the road, and almost into a fence...before she was stopped by a pile of snow. She was cold and tired and done by the time she made it back up the hill. We enjoyed our snow days at home. I got my Christmas decorations put up, we ate a lot, snuggled up with a lot of Christmas movies, and just enjoyed some down time at home without any schedules or places to be.

Making snow angels in ice Thursday evening |

Friday morning |

Let's do this! |
Rhett couldn't really walk. He still says "hold me, Mama" when we go outside because there is still some snow. And when we're driving he says, "The ice is slippery." |
And he's down |
I put him on top of the play set where there wasn't as much snow. |
They were all about eating it, which probably didn't help keep them warm ;) |

ME's snow angel |

And a few minutes before they were all like, "We want to go outside, Mama!" |
Done...ha! |
