Mary Ella got invited to join a straight CoC square dancing group this year. ;) So, pretty much this is what we will be doing every Labor Day weekend in Prairie Grove. It was precious, y'all! Saturday morning started with a parade. It reminded me of my small town days.
We watched the parade on the church lawn. |
Cheese! |
Gracie |
Rhett loved the firetrucks and tractors. |
And candy! |
Anna's group |
Rhett decided to throw candy too. |
ME spotting the fam...I should have volunteered to ride on the trailer, but I did not. |
Trey's group was on this trailer too...you can see him on the other side. |
After lunch and a short nap, we headed to Battlefield Park for the square dancing. It probably starts at age 3 and goes up to high school age competition. The young ones do not compete. Prairie Grove is also known for antiques and flea markets, and this weekend is the Clothesline Fair. It's a big deal. |
Mom...enough pictures |
A little practice round |
ME's partner is Ryder Cobb. |
The girls: Mary Ella, Lexie, Kenzie, and Ruthie |
Break a leg, sister! |
Waiting their turn |
Bring 'em on |
Ryder and ME were the youngest in the group. And she was the only one that couldn't skip. ;) Hers is more of a gallop. |
Hug your partner |
Put a little sunshine in your mouth |
Peek-a-boo |
This is my favorite move...backs to the barn...you can't see her, but you can see how high she swished her skirt ;) |
Ryder's impromptu high five to his cousin, Corbin. |
ME was like, "What are you doing???" |
They were supposed to be thanking their partner and their audience...bow and curtsy ;) |
She's like, "Hey!" |
Then Morgan, his brother, got him back in line. Ha! |
Take 'em off! |
