Practice Makes Perfect

Something more exciting than Arkansas beating Georgia happened over the weekend. Mary Ella started WALKING! Last Monday she took her first steps on her own...no cupcakes or bribery involved. I think she tried about 3 different times that day, and they were short distances like from her chair to the ottoman. And progressively through the week she practiced more and went further distances. She became very determined and deliberate about it, but she always ended on her booty. And crawling was still her preferred mode of transportation. By Friday she could walk across her room...lots of steps in a row. But I still thought it would be a while before she totally switched over. And then out of nowhere Saturday during the Georgia game she was walking all over Julie and Michael's house like she had been doing it forever! She wore herself plum out over the weekend walking and showing off for everyone. She can walk and carry things, step over objects in the way, turn around, she can practically run! It is so adorable, and I am one proud mama! I wanted to post video, but I can't get it load. I might try again later, but yay for Mary Ella!
