Thanksgiving 2013

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year, and no one even had to drive 8 hours to get to us!

Funny story: This was Rhett's second outfit of the day.  We were still loosely trying to potty train, and I had put him in a pull-up when I got him dressed.  I had been in the kitchen all morning, and Mary Ella ran in and said, "Rhett's in the toilet!"  I thought she meant playing in the toilet, but he had actually fallen in the toilet.  He had pooped in his pull-up and I guess thought he needed to do it in the potty (a little too late for that), so he pulled the stool over to the big potty and sat down and had fallen in.  Only his booty got wet, but we did have to do a whole wardrobe change!

I didn't take pics of the food, (it was all super yummy) but these are my desserts: cupcakes and the salted caramel chocolate pecan pie from the cover of SL.  Good, but waaay too rich!  And I love my turkey platter Gigi gave me!

Amen!  I could not live a day on this earth without the love of God, the sacrifice of Jesus, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in my life.

Adults sat in the dining room and kids in the kitchen

After lunch we all went to see Frozen.  It was a great day!

This is Brad making fun of the marshmallows on my sweet potato casserole.  I burned them, not once, but twice under the broiler.  The first time we scraped them off, the second time we just had roasted marshmallows on top.  He, apparently, thought they looked like big, nasty moles.

We went to Mia's for Thanksgiving round 2.  It was even more delicious than the first.

So thankful for my little turkeys!

Potty Train Choo Choo

So, one day in November Rhett and I were in Target on the sock and panty aisle getting Mary Ella some new dress socks, and he pointed to a package of Mickey Mouse underwear and said, "I want Mickey Mouse."  Then he spotted Thomas the Train and Batman and 3 packages of undies ended up in our buggy.  I did not plan to start potty training that day, but he insisted on holding the superhero pack in the store and in the car, and then we got home he wanted to try on every pair so I was like, "well, let's give it a try."  He has shown some interest and gone a few times on the toilet before bath time.  He went several times on the potty before we had to go get sister from school, so even though I didn't feel like I was prepared, I kind of felt like we needed to give it a shot.  And we did, for about a week.  And then Thanksgiving and travel came, and it just wasn't working out for either of us. ;)  So, we're probably taking a break until after Christmas, and then we'll see what happens.  But I had to post pics of how proud he was of his first pack of panties. I mean, his booty could not be any cuter in them. ;)

Getting some love before Easton's birthday party

One weekend in November Brad and I got away and spent a long weekend in Madison.  I got to see spend a day with some dear friends shopping at Mistletoe.

We stayed with Bob and Rebecca and went to the Ole Miss game in Oxford.

First School Program

Mary Ella had her first school program before Thanksgiving.  She sang one song with her class, and then the whole preschool sang a few songs.  It was precious!  Afterward there was a Thanksgiving feast.  We were so excited that Gigi got to come too!

Isn't Thomas the cutest?  His mom is my dear friend, Bonnie.  I am so blessed to be back in touch with her in NWA.  I joined her Bible study group before we even moved back!
