20 Weeks

20 Weeks Old

What a week! Mary Ella turned 20 weeks old on Christmas day! She traveled all over Arkansas and got loads of presents. On Wednesday afternoon we drove to Springdale, ate Guido's with the fam, and made it to church. On Thursday, Christmas Eve, we had brunch and opened presents at Gigi and Papa's. She was a doll and the crazy cousins kept her very entertained. Anna Claire and Trey are really getting into Santa, and that makes Christmas so much fun. Reese and Eli call ME baby Ella, and they say she lives in Little Rocket. Ha! Gigi and Papa got Mary Ella a big, comfy, pink, monogrammed chair from Pottery Barn (they don't do double names, so it just says "Mary"- obviously not a southern company, but it's still sooo cute). Papa also did something specal for her. He took a rocking chair that my grandpa had painted for me and re-painted it for Mary Ella. It was pink with white polka dots and now it's brown with pink polka dots, perfect for her room. Mike and Julie got her the cutest leopard print dress, and Ranjo and Lindasay gave her a GIANT caterpillar to wrestle with. She got lots more cute clothes and toys too.
We woke up Friday to a beautiful, white Christmas! It delayed our travel a bit, but it was neat that Mary Ella's first Christmas was white. We got to my mom's Friday night and had Christmas dinner with Nanny and Pa and Cole and Jennifer. By the time we ate and opened presents with Nanny and Pa it was Mary Ella's bedtime, so we put her to bed and had our grown up Christmas. The next day was all about her. She got some cute clothes, a new baby doll, toys, and a set of Baby Einstein videos from Mia. It was more fun opening her gifts this year than it was my own. We stayed in Hope through the weekend and had Christmas with my mom's side of the family Sunday after church before we came home. It was the best Christmas ever! I have lots of Christmas pictures to post soon. We have been so blessed this year. I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for the Harriman family!

Our Home for the Holidays

Come on in!

Tree in the kitchen- this one has all my Old World/Christopher Radko/Fitz and Floyd/glittery ornaments on it and a few randoms. I can't find my toppers since the move :( but I have pink beady things to stick on the top. I wanted to decorate the staircase, but didn't get around to it this year.

Mary Ella's ornament

Sitting area in kitchen- my kitchen is usually done in blue and brown. I got these cute chairs when we moved.

This is a new piece to our house. It came from Nanny and Pa's house, and we put new glass in it. It is an antique legal bookcase. It has my cookbooks in it.

This year I am putting our Christmas cards on a wreath.

Some Joy McAlister from Mississippi

My baker's rack with my Butler's Pantry and white Christmas stuff

I got our stockings several years ago from Ballard Designs (my favorite catalog- it is so much better than Pottery Barn or more my style at least). I liked them so much I ordered a couple extra just in case. :) I also have a lime green polka dot for the next little Harriman.

My big, funky tree

These are Mimi's Christmas plates and red glasses.

Our room isn't really decorated for Christmas, but I am so proud of my new bedroom furniture! We got it when we moved in as my "push" present. Sure, jewelry would have been sweeter, but when Brad's in the mood to buy you gotta jump on it. I have wanted new bedroom furniture for six years (since we got our old stuff). It was really cheap and ugly. It was the same bed that was on "Everybody Loves Raymond" if you ever watched that show. But I love our new bed! Mary Ella was more than worth going through labor and delivery, and a new bedroom suit was just an added bonus!

Thanks for stopping by!

Nineteen Weeks Old

Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On...

Mary Ella can finally fit into her first pair of blue jeans. And it's probably because she gained one pound and 6 1/2 ounces in one week! I had her weighed on Wednesday, and she weighed 11 lbs. 11 1/2 oz! I couldn't believe it! If you look at the Christmas card photo shoots you can see the difference. It is amazing! We finally found a formula she would take (Nestle), and she has just taken off. Of course you would know she would get her first stuffy nose the week we started formula. Nothing like a cold to add to my guilt. But isn't it all about guilt from here on out? :)
My mom came this week, and we had a great time. It's fun to be around someone that is as wrapped up in your baby as you are. Of course she thinks Mary Ella is the smartest, cutest, and sweetest baby there ever was. And that's fine by me! We did a little shopping, baked Christmas goodies, and had lots of girl time. We tried again to get a good Christmas card picture, and it was much easier with Mia's help. Or it may have been the girl's good mood. She is getting to be so much fun! She is all into singing/squealing and being on the move. She rolled over Monday for the first time, twice, from her belly to her back!

Talkin' and a movin'

Full of joy

I can touch my toes! In yoga this is called "happy baby" pose. And that's just what she is! She loves to grab her feet and is a pro and getting those toes to her mouth. So cute!

Ho Ho Ho

Mary Ella's first meeting with Santa went well. We had to pry her hands out of his beard when we left!
